Pool Improvements on the Way
Before pool opening on May 28th, 2016, the board plans to completely refresh the children’s play area with higher quality and safer play equipment for the younger kids, and some better features for older kids as well. Improvements planned include a high quality play structure with a soft landing zone, safer and better basketball goals, and possibly a few more surprises. More info to follow.
POOL MANAGER & LIFEGUARD APPLICATIONS
RVSC will be accepting applications for the summer pool manager position beginning in February. We plan to hire in March or April for an early May start. We’re looking for a mature person who would like a relatively easy summer job to earn a little extra money.
RVSC will be accepting lifeguard applications in March and we plan to interview once the Pool Manager is identified and hired.

POOL FEES & RENEWALS
Annual pool fees will be collected beginning in April and will be due May 1st. Fees paid on or before April 15 will merit $10 worth of guest passess.
Redwood Village Lifeguards Sharpen Skills
The Redwood Pool lifeguards hold monthly safety meetings during the summer swim season. We are also in the process of organizing emergency response training with the local fire department.
As always, the goal is to provide the safest and most enjoyable recreational pool possible for our membership.
Board Elections in June
Secretary Beth Joson and Treasurer Ken Rode are stepping down after extending their terms in office to provide some continuity to the board.
We’ll be asking for nominations for both positions in April and May. Here are the job descriptions paraphrased from the bylaws and adjusted for current board operations.
Secretary: schedules, records and reports on board meetings; is responsible for official review and recording of all corporate decisions; in coordination with the membership secretary, monitors and reports on pool membership status. In the absence of a membership secretary, the secretary assumes all responsibilities related to membership issues, including fees compliance, membership application processing, etc.
Treasurer: responsible for drafting and oversight of budget execution, reporting on company finances, and oversight of contracted bookkeeping function. Serves as primary liaison between RVSC board and all financial institutions, vendors and partners, including but not limited to banks and other lending institutions. In the absence of a bookkeeper, the treasurer handles deposits, check writing, and categorization of income and expenses in Quickbooks.
